Sesame Biscotti

Another favorite around here:


  • 2 c. Flour
  • 1 c. Sugar
  • 1 t. Baking soda
  • ¼ t. Salt
  • 7 T. Sesame seeds
  • 1 t. Vanilla
  • 3 Eggs, slightly beaten


- Preheat oven to 350.
-Sift together first four ingredients
-Mix in sesame seeds
-Mix together vanilla and eggs
-Pour egg mixture into flour mixture
-Stir together till combined
-Knead, on lightly floured surface, till it forms a uniform dough.
-Cut dough in half and roll each piece into a long log.
-Place each log on a sprayed cookie sheet and press each log with fingers to flatten slightly.
-Bake for 30 minutes.
-Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
-Reduce oven to 325
-Slice logs on the diagonal to form biscotti.
-Place on cookie sheet cut side down and bake for 12 minutes. Turn cookies and bake for 12 minutes on the other side.
-You may mix in other ingredients to enhance the flavor such as chocolate chips, chopped crystallized ginger, raisins or whatever you prefer.
