Pumpkin Ribbon Bread
I make this pumpkin bread every fall and it's always a hit.
1 cup cooked pumpkin
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 2/3 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Combine pumpkin, oil, and eggs. Add sugar, cloves, cinnamon, flour,
baking soda and nuts. Mix.
8 oz. pkg cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp. grated orange peel
Cream the cheese and sugar. Add egg. Stir in orange peel.
Pour 1/3 of batter into greased and floured loaf pan (3 1/2" x 12").
Spread filling over; add remaining batter. Bake at 325 degrees for 1
1/2 hours or when toothpick comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes before
removing from pan. Store in refrigerator.
