Here's my recipe for bulkogee marinade (from my Korean mother-in-law):
INGREDIENTS
- 3/4 cup soy sauce
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3 T. crushed garlic
- 1/2 cup chopped green onion
- 1 T. black pepper
- 3 T. sesame oil
- 2 T. roasted sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup sweet cooking rice wine (aji mirin)
DIRECTIONS
You can buy the rice wine and roasted sesame seeds at any
asian/korean grocery store, as well as meat for the bulkogee. I also
recommend buying the jars of crushed garlic - that's what my MIL does,
and it's so convenient to have on hand.
If you want to buy the meat at your regular grocery store, I'm not sure
which cut to recommend, but I've had good luck with different types of
thinly sliced beef.
Just marinate for a few hours and throw on the grill or in a skillet!
