Baked Brie (Apricot Jam & Almonds)

Here is an easy recipe that tastes great!

Take a wheel of brie, spread some real butter very lightly over the top. Next spread apricot jam over the top. Next sprinkle with sliced almonds. I can't recall if I usually bake it at 350 for 15 minutes, but I found an identical recipe which says to bake it for 15 minutes at 300 degrees, so you could try that. I bake it in a decorative bakeware pan so it looks nice when serving. (Pan has illustrations of apples and leaves all around.)

You could serve this with apple wedges (dipped in Sprite or lemon juice) or crackers. We usually buy those mini bread pieces to smear it on--the roughly 2 inch by 2 inch soft squares of bread. Rye is pretty good. I made a similar brie once with phyllo puff pastry around it. It was really good, but time consuming to make. This one with just the butter, jam and nuts is so easy and really just as delicious. ;-) Note: You may find the butter isn't needed. It is probably just fine w/ the jam and nut topping, but I haven't tried it this way. Also, for crackers, Carr's water crackers are really good too!
