Bacon-wrapped Water Chestnuts

Here is a hot appetizer that everyone requests constantly.


  • 1 lb. bacon (not turkey) ---we eat turkey except for this recipe!!
  • jar of whole water chesnuts
  • ketchup
  • white or brown sugar


Cut bacon strips in half. Wrap half a piece of bacon around one water chesnut. Stick a toothpick through. Lay all wrapped bacon/chesnut in single layer baking dish. Bake 30-40 min. at 350, drain off bacon fat.

Mix 1 cup ketchup with around 3/4 cup sugar. Spread over bacon/chesnut wraps. Bake another 20-30 mins. Serve warm. I just use one of those insulated carrying cases and it works fine. Enjoy!!!
