These are really fun. They are not really Korean, but they are kim bap, prepared in a fun way!
12 standard-sized Tootsie Rolls
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
2 Tablespoons butter, softened
1/3 cup miniature chocolate chips
1/3 cup flaked coconut
1/4 cup crushed almonds
4 maraschino or 2T. dried cherries, chopped
2 fruit roll-ups, any flavor, cut into 12 (1x2-inch) strips

On waxed paper, microwave Tootsie Rolls until softened, about 90
seconds on full power. Use a rolling pin to flatten Tootsie Rolls into 2-inch
by 3-inch rectangles. Prepare filling. Mix sugar, milk, butter, chips, coconut, almonds and cherries. Spread half of this mixture thinly over Tootsie Rolls. Cover with a slice of fruit roll-up, then another thin layer of filling. Roll candies into logs or pinwheels, beginning at short end. The outer layer should be stiff enough to hold it in a round shape. Slice each "log" in two.
Makes 24 dessert kimbap.
